This property is of the highest standard with top quality fittings and furnishings. The pictures don’t do it justice. The location is amazingly beautiful and Chris the owner was very friendly without being intrusive. I highly recommend. Great relaxing base to come back to after a day exploring this beautiful area!
Chris, the owner, was always so friendly and helpful. The accommodation was truly delightful, probably the best we have had and we have recommended the lodge to several friends.
This was our 5th stay at Oakview. We’ll be back soon Big thanks to Chris and Claudia once again
Very much enjoyed our stay. Oakview was outstanding and the views breathtaking. Our hosts were very welcoming and informative about the local area. We would certainly visit again. The accomodation was very clean and well equiped. The welcome pack was a lovely touch. There was lots to see and do and the local pubs had great food and the staff made us feel very welcome. It was also great having a local shop in the village. It was a wonderful site seeing all the beautiful horses on the common every day and the amazing sunsets were a bonus too.
Yes, absolutely. This holiday home is set in a stunning location. The lodge is exactly as advertised and the owner is very friendly providing good advice. Would visit again and stay in the same lodge.
We thoroughly enjoyed our few days which really wasn't long enough! Chris was very helpful and on arrival explained everything we needed to know. The cottage was high quality , warm and cosy. the position is fantastic overlooking the common and only a little way away you could walk into the woods which was ideal for our dog who loved her walks there. Really peaceful place in the forest. There was a welcome of a pint of milk and some cakes to enjoy with a cuppa on arrival. Would highly recommend to a friend and will hopefully be able to visit again in the future. Thank you.
We came here again for the welcome, for the woodland walks and the village shop. Not for the weather, luckily because it was very wet! We still enjoyed ourselves, the lodge is very cosy. We were delighted with your action in refunding the mispaid fee for two dogs without being asked, thank you.
Second time here. We love it, we can feel our tensions lift off and the excitement begin as soon as we arrive. It’s so tranquil you feel the forest hug you. Our dog feels the same way he really enjoys the walks and the whole adventure every day. For a complete get away and have a break this is it. Chris makes us feel we are a part of the Village with Day to Day news.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A return visit. so comfortable and everything you need.
Fantastic stay. Chris and Claudia went above and beyond making us feel welcome. We will be back
The cottage is lovely and in an idyllic setting with horses at the garden gate. Very good walks and pubs from cottage door. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Cottage is very comfy, warm and well appointed. Loved the New Forest, hope to return again.
Perfect for 2 people plus dog owners very helpful and friendly.
A wonderful stay at Oakview - a lovely, comfortable and well-appointed cottage with amazing views over the green and direct access to breathtaking forest walks beyond. Excellent hosts, full of local knowledge - a great welcome basket on arrival, fruit from the garden on departure, and tasty treats for our dog too!
It's such a lovely place and in a perfect location for us and the dog.
We had one of the best self catering holidays ever in Oakview at Wood Green. The lodge was superb, the owners gave us a warm welcome and were very helpful. Our two dogs were welcomed too - nice touch to have a jar of dog biscuits - and for walks, this location was marvellous. We enjoyed seeing the ponies & cattle on the green and the walk to & from the well stocked community shop was delightful. We enjoyed a good meal at The Horse & Groom one evening. Good location to reach Ringwood and other New Forest locations. We will book again for next year.
And wonderful hosts.
Very nice cottage. Every thing that you need is there. The view is magnificient with all the wild animals every day. The host and hostess are realy friendly , people with stories to tell and tips to give. So, we had a lovely stay and we commanded it to everybody.
The cottage was lovely. The location was wonderful, situated in a village with a fabulous village shop and pub. The direct forest access means we could watch the first animals as they wondered about and we didn't need to use the car to get to great walks.
This is our second stay at Oakview in 6 months and we will definitely be coming back again soon. Chris and Claudia are the perfect hosts who make you feel so welcome. See you again soon
Sitting, dining, sleeping and kitchen area are all one big space in this very cozy garden lodge. That agreeable impression of spaciousness and light is enhanced by three large windows, looking into the garden and further over the Common, a large lawn where the New Forest cattle comes and goes. From the garden and also through the dinner table window, you look even further onto the green, rolling hills and the Beamore House. Our lodge was perfectly located in the scenic, hillier northern part of the New Forest. In fact, you can start two smashing National Park Authority featured walks from your lodge (NFNPA walks 7 and 8). A note for those who really want to relax: as the Common is west-oriented, you will watch the sun set in the old oak tree and across the hills. After that: no street lights, no remote highway noise, just you and another starry night. To say that we had one of our most relaxing stays ever down there at Oakview.
Thank you so much.We have loved staying at Oakview. It is the most beautiful retreat. Decorated beautifully and set within stunning scenery. We will definitely be back. Thank you.
Oakview is lovely and the walks, village, and wildlife. We will be back. It is well equipped , cosy. Could live here no problem. And the owners are great.
