Encapsulated by ancient woods and open heathlands is the historic hilltop village of Emery Down. This charming community has a friendly pub, The New Forest Inn, and is a mile or so away from Lyndhurst; known as the capital of the New Forest ever since William the Conqueror named it a royal hunting ground in 1079. This quaint Hampshire village is perhaps best typified by its traditional red telephone box which now serves as a fruit and veg shop, information hub, and book exchange.

The delightful, 2 bedroomed, semi-detached cottage, Halemede (sleeps 4), is tastefully furnished and decorated, and set in a lovely garden with direct forest access - perfectly positioned for long country walks to make the most of the stunning New Forest landscape.
