Home Farm Cottage is a former farm-workers cottage that has been offers comfortable accommodation for up to four guests. Set within the grounds of the Countryside Education Trust charity, and part of a working farm, the rural setting offers a peaceful holiday retreat, and guests are offered a bookable tour of the facilities during their stay.
The village of Beaulieu is a short walk away, where ponies and donkeys roam its cobbled high street, and you can find a selection of tea-rooms and independent shops. Other local attractions include The National Motor Museum, Bucklers Hard and Exbury Gardens, with its steam railway. Calshot Activities’ Centre is close for active sports and bikes can be hired in the Beaulieu village. The Georgian market town of Lymington, with its ancient Saturday Charter market, is a short drive away through the open Forest.

Pleasant lawned garden to the side of the Cottage with picnic bench for outdoor dining. Farm animals, including sheep, goats, chickens and ponies can be seen and heard in this rural setting.
Please note the garden is enclosed but may not prevent a persistent dog from escaping! This is a working farm so dogs must be on a lead outside of the garden and children must be supervised for safety.
Pretty as a picture and steeped in history, the New Forest village of Beaulieu (meaning “beautiful place”) continues to charm all those who visit.
Surrounded by leafy acres and sleepy meadows, this delightful corner of Hampshire is characterised by its quiet cobbled streets, chocolate box cottages, sun-dappled glebes and lavender-scented tea gardens - hallmarks of a bygone era.
The Beaulieu River flows past the village on its way to the Solent seawater and once drove the cogs and grinders of the old tide mill. This stretch of the river is negotiable to small craft as it wends its way to the neighbouring hamlet of Buckler’s Hard, part of the Beaulieu Estate and once famous for its shipwright enterprises which included the building of Vice Admiral Horatio Lord Nelson’s most-favoured gun boat, HMS Agamemnon. These now peaceful surroundings provide the perfect setting for a leisurely stroll or riverside picnic, and nowhere more so than the large, tree-lined mill pond at the head of Beaulieu.
Holidays in Beaulieu can be spent enjoying a range of outdoor activities, from rambling, mountain biking and pony trekking, to archery, canoeing and kayaking. If you’re in the mood for something a little more sedate, take a stroll along the gentle sloping high street where you’ll discover traditional merchants and artisan shops, tearooms, delicatessens and olde worlde inns.
Aside from the resident donkeys who can often be seen idling on the village green, Beaulieu is also a popular haunt for birdwatchers and wildlife enthusiasts, all keen to catch a glimpse of such species as the Dartford warbler and the European honey buzzard.
Other local attractions include Palace House, one of the ‘Treasure Houses of England’, an impressive Victorian country house with an ecclesiastical heritage, Exbury Gardens, a spectacular 200-acre garden famous for its collections of rhododendrons, azaleas, camellias, rare trees and shrubs, Beaulieu Abbey, Buckler’s Hard Maritime Museum, where you’ll learn all about the vessels built for Nelson’s Armada and be able to take a tranquil river tour, and the National Motor Museum, where you’ll find more than 250 vintage and classic motorcars including the legendry land speed record holders Bluebird and Golden Arrow, plus special exhibitions and events from James Bond to Top Gear.
Beaulieu Road railway station is on the London-Weymouth main line and provides regular carriages. There are frequent buses to Hythe and Lymington, and during the summer months the popular New Forest open-top tour bus is also in operation.

This is a great place to find gorgeous food and a friendly welcome. We stopped for coffee and pastries but the smell of a cooked breakfast as we walked through the door changed our minds. We'll definitely go next time we're in the area. The coffee was good too.

All produce is locally sourced, with many ingredients coming from Partick's Patch, a vegetable garden opposite the café that you can stroll around.

We stopped here on the way to our holiday cottage.. 3 adults and one toddler. It was a sunny day so we sat outside; the garden was beautiful and well cared for. The food was delicious. Added bonus of a couple of donkeys walking by the front of the pub. With all the room in the garden, a small children’s play area would be a welcome addition.

Really enjoyed our trips to the Turfcutters Arms when staying just down the road. Friendly landlord (and locals) welcoming to us and dog, fantastic sized garden with lots to do, play area and snooker table for kids, loads of space, pretty flower hedging; just a really nice place to while away a sunny afternoon. Didn't eat there but was busy at lunchtime so assuming pretty decent!

This was great! We spent the entire day there from when it opened at 10am until it closed at 6pm. There was so much to see and learn, the children loved the monorail and vintage bus rides and the play area was one of the best we have been to (and we have been to a lot!). The best bit however were the two talks given by the Palace House falconer about his birds and what they do. It was so informative and amazing - the bloke needs a payrise!

Voted best large visitor attraction 2013 by VisitBritain, this is much more than just a Motor Museum, as well as telling the fascinating story of motoring through the ages, it also boasts the historic Beaulieu Abbey, and charming Palace House with its glorious gardens.

Enjoyed a day out at Beaulieu, reasonably quite as out of school holidays and we were able to take advantage of the monorail, the bus and easy access to the exhibitions. Also took a walk around the Mill Pond walk which gave a fabulous view of the Pond at Beaulieu and over to the bridge. We also took advantage of the free return to revisit the main exhibition on a very wet day enabling the motor fan more time to read all the information .

Fabulous day out. It’s not cheap to visit but we really enjoyed. May not be suitable for young families. Only downside was that we went for lunch at the cafe and they had stopped serving hot food at 2.30pm and all the sandwiches /wraps had gone. Only cakes left !

Having been to the excellent Motor Museum several times before, we decided to upgrade our annual pass and visit the sculpture exhibition which is on until September. We can thoroughly recommend this extra attraction, we are not usually into culture but the variety of topics and designs was fascinating and very enjoyable, recommended. The cafe is also very good.

An enjoyable way to spend a day (or more!) lots to see, as well as the motors the gardens are beautiful, we found the wartime spy exhibition really interesting and surprising! Arrows to steer round the main exhibition much appreciated- it's a bit of a maze! Top marks to the staff - everyone was friendly, helpful, informative and welcoming, made the visit extra special.

A good day out - even if you do not like cars! Our grandson particularly enjoyed the museum and the 'Top Gear' attraction. The remains of the Abbey are worth seeing and one can dress up as a monk! Our favourite attraction was the demonstration of falconry - absolutely fascinating and we learnt a great deal about the birds and the history of falconry.

Fuzzacker Guided Walks

Lazy Daze Fishing Charters

A 25ft motorboat moored at Bucklers Hard in Beaulieu, Lazy Daze is available for river trips and fishing adventures whether you’re looking for a two hour jaunt or a 12 hour marathon. There’s free parking, pontoon access, a café and a pub on site and Lazy Daze is owned and skippered by Jeff Semple, who has extensive experience fishing and boating on the Solent.

A beautiful shingle beach with pretty painted beach huts, plenty of parking, and excellent coastal walks along Hurst spit to Hurst Castle with clear views of the Isle of Wight and needles. The superb Raft Rocks Restaurant is worth a visit with its Art deco style and roof terrace. You can also walk across the wildlife marshes to Keyhaven harbour and (in season) take the boat to Hurst Castle or the Isle of Wight.
Lovely sea walk within 15 minutes of the cottage.

Milford on Sea is a very quintessential English village which has retained all its charm. The seafront is a delight to stroll along and The Needles Eye Cafe produces lovely coffee and lunches which is well worth a visit. A walk around Sturt Pond is also enjoyable and through to the village.

Due to my husband breaking his leg we hired a mobility scooter for our holiday. It was a joy to ride along the front at Milford. Wonderful views of The Needles and lots of benches along the way too. Great access from the car parks. Would be great if the short path from Milford to Keyhaven could be the same good surface. We felt the rough stones would be too hard to ride on.

A stony beach with sandy areas as the tide goes out, and a great spot to do some fossil hunting. The cliffs are subject to considerable coastal erosion and at times parts of the beach can be cordoned off. The Beachcomber Café on the cliff top is one of the most popular cafés in the region. Plenty of parking in car parks along the cliff top as well as on-road parking.
A pleasant walk along the cliff top and along the beach. There was less cliff than last time we went to the New Forest.

Highcliffe Beach

Highcliffe beach, beneath the popular Cliffhanger Restaurant is a part sandy, part pebble beach. The beach has sloping access as well as steps down to the shore from the pay and display clifftop car park. To the east, Highcliffe beach towards Barton on Sea is a part sandy beach at the foot of the second most eroded cliff in England. This side of the beach is dog-friendly all year. However do check the tide times as high tide can make it difficult to walk along the beach.
To the west towards Highcliffe Castle beach, the promenade leads across the top of the small beaches inbetween the groynes with views across Christchurch Bay and Hengistbury Head. Groynes 4-8 have dog restrictions as does the promenade during the summer months, May-September.

A picturesque, tree-lined beach of shingle, and sand at low tide. Good facilities on the cliff top including an excellent tea room, public toilets, baby change and a children’s play area in the Castle gardens. Plenty of parking and sloping access down to the beach. Highcliffe Castle beach is dog-friendly all year round.

It's always a joy to stay here. The cottage is very cosy and it is so peaceful being in amongst the animals and so close to the New Forest. I shall miss the bird song. My favourite place to visit has to be Blackwater Aboretum, just magical. Also Lepe Country Park and Nature Reserve. Thank you for the apple juice and biscuits, all very tasty.

The cottage is lovely and there is everything that you need. On our arrival I was greeted with a beautiful birthday cake as it was my 65th birthday. It was a lovely surprise. The bed was so comfy and had a good nights sleep each night. Would recommend and will book to stay there again at some. Thank you Steve.

We had a wonderful stay. The cottage worked really well for us and the homemade cake and other goodies on arrival were much appreciated. Our toddler loved staying on a farm and the animal feeding session that we booked. The location worked really well for us too. Lots of great places to visit within a short distance and the hop on hop off bus stop was within walking distance. We would definitely return.

She loved doing the animal feeding one morning, Lewis was really lovely and a brilliant guide - we loved his stories! Highly recommend this cottage for a stay in the Forest - the only slight downside is need to be on busy road for a little while on bikes, before you can get onto quieter roads/off road.

It's always a joy to stay here. The cottage is very cosy and it is so peaceful being in amongst the animals and so close to the New Forest. I shall miss the bird song. My favourite place to visit has to be Blackwater Aboretum, just magical. Also Lepe Country Park and Nature Reserve. Thank you for the apple juice and biscuits, all very tasty.

The cottage is lovely and there is everything that you need. On our arrival I was greeted with a beautiful birthday cake as it was my 65th birthday. It was a lovely surprise. We stopped here on the way to our holiday cottage.. 3 adults and one toddler. It was a sunny day so we sat outside; the garden was beautiful and well cared for. The food was delicious. Added bonus of a couple of donkeys walking by the front of the pub. With all the room in the garden, a small children’s play area would be a welcome addition.

Didn't eat there but was busy at lunchtime so assuming pretty decent!

This was great! We spent the entire day there from when it opened at 10am until it closed at 6pm. There was so much to see and learn, the children loved the monorail and vintage bus rides and the play area was one of the best we have been to (and we have been to a lot!). The best bit however were the two talks given by the Palace House falconer about his birds and what they do. It was so informative and amazing - the bloke needs a payrise!

Voted best large visitor attraction 2013 by VisitBritain, this is much more than just a Motor Museum, as well as telling the fascinating story of motoring through the ages, it also boasts the historic Beaulieu Abbey, and charming Palace House with its glorious gardens.

Enjoyed a day out at Beaulieu, reasonably quite as out of school holidays and we were able to take advantage of the monorail, the bus and easy access to the exhibitions. Also took a walk around the Mill Pond walk which gave a fabulous view of the Pond at Beaulieu and over to the bridge. We also took advantage of the free return to revisit the main exhibition on a very wet day enabling the motor fan more time to read all the information .

Fabulous day out. It’s not cheap to visit but we really enjoyed. May not be suitable for young families. Only downside was that we went for lunch at the cafe and they had stopped serving hot food at 2.30pm and all the sandwiches /wraps had gone. Only cakes left !

Having been to the excellent Motor Museum several times before, we decided to upgrade our annual pass and visit the sculpture exhibition which is on until September. We can thoroughly recommend this extra attraction, we are not usually into culture but the variety of topics and designs was fascinating and very enjoyable, recommended. The cafe is also very good.

An enjoyable way to spend a day (or more!) lots to see, as well as the motors the gardens are beautiful, we found the wartime spy exhibition really interesting and surprising! Arrows to steer round the main exhibition much appreciated- it's a bit of a maze! Top marks to the staff - everyone was friendly, helpful, informative and welcoming, made the visit extra special.

A good day out - even if you do not like cars! Our grandson particularly enjoyed the museum and the 'Top Gear' attraction. The remains of the Abbey are worth seeing and one can dress up as a monk! Our favourite attraction was the demonstration of falconry - absolutely fascinating and we learnt a great deal about the birds and the history of falconry.

Fuzzacker Guided Walks

Lazy Daze Fishing Charters

A 25ft motorboat moored at Bucklers Hard in Beaulieu, Lazy Daze is available for river trips and fishing adventures whether you’re looking for a two hour jaunt or a 12 hour marathon. There’s free parking, pontoon access, a café and a pub on site and Lazy Daze is owned and skippered by Jeff Semple, who has extensive experience fishing and boating on the Solent.

A beautiful shingle beach with pretty painted beach huts, plenty of parking, and excellent coastal walks along Hurst spit to Hurst Castle with clear views of the Isle of Wight and needles. The superb Raft Rocks Restaurant is worth a visit with its Art deco style and roof terrace. You can also walk across the wildlife marshes to Keyhaven harbour and (in season) take the boat to Hurst Castle or the Isle of Wight.
Lovely sea walk within 15 minutes of the cottage.

Milford on Sea is a very quintessential English village which has retained all its charm. The seafront is a delight to stroll along and The Needles Eye Cafe produces lovely coffee and lunches which is well worth a visit. A walk around Sturt Pond is also enjoyable and through to the village.

Great access from the car parks. Would be great if the short path from Milford to Keyhaven could be the same good surface. We felt the rough stones would be too hard to ride on.

A stony beach with sandy areas as the tide goes out, and a great spot to do some fossil hunting. The cliffs are subject to considerable coastal erosion and at times parts of the beach can be cordoned off. The Beachcomber Café on the cliff top is one of the most popular cafés in the region. Plenty of parking in car parks along the cliff top as well as on-road parking.
A pleasant walk along the cliff top and along the beach. There was less cliff than last time we went to the New Forest.

Highcliffe Beach

Highcliffe beach, beneath the popular Cliffhanger Restaurant is a part sandy, part pebble beach. The beach has sloping access as well as steps down to the shore from the pay and display clifftop car park. To the east, Highcliffe beach towards Barton on Sea is a part sandy beach at the foot of the second most eroded cliff in England. This side of the beach is dog-friendly all year. However do check the tide times as high tide can make it difficult to walk along the beach.
To the west towards Highcliffe Castle beach, the promenade leads across the top of the small beaches inbetween the groynes with views across Christchurch Bay and Hengistbury Head. Groynes 4-8 have dog restrictions as does the promenade during the summer months, May-September.

A picturesque, tree-lined beach of shingle, and sand at low tide. Good facilities on the cliff top including an excellent tea room, public toilets, baby change and a children’s play area in the Castle gardens. Plenty of parking and sloping access down to the beach. Highcliffe Castle beach is dog-friendly all year round.
