The New Forest is packed full of events throughout the year, none more so than in the long summer days of June. There are festivals aplenty and, of course, the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations! Read on for our top picks of June events in the New Forest.
New Forest Jubilee events
Our friendly local communities will host ‘Picnic in the Park’ events. They are free to attend, and everyone is welcome! So bring a camp chair or a blanket and settle down to enjoy hours of live music and entertainment. Pack a picnic or feast on yummy snacks and delicious dishes from food and drink stalls.
2nd June: Fordingbridge Jubilee Picnic in the Park at Fordingbridge Sports Club, 3.30pm – 10pm
3rd – 4th June: New Milton Queens Platinum Jubilee in the town recreation ground, 12 noon – 7pm on Friday and 5pm on Saturday
5th June: Lymington Picnic in the Park at Woodside Park, 11am – 6pm
5th June: Ringwood Party in the Park at Carvers Recreation Ground, 12 noon – 6pm

Highcliffe High Street turns into a hive of activity over the two days, and the town’s recreation park hosts artisan craft stalls and workshops. Expect music, delicious food and plenty to see and do.

If you’re bringing the family to the New Forest this summer, don’t miss a day out at Marwell Zoo. Not only have they got a remarkable collection of animals from across the globe, but this year they are joined by 55 huge prehistoric creatures (and some babies!) made using more than 2 million toy bricks! There’s an app to download whist you walk the BRICKOSAURS! trail giving lots of dinosaur facts and stats about the creatures featured in the exhibition.
