New Property: West Wing, Ringwood

West Wing is a separate wing of a Georgian Grade II listed 18th century manor house, which has been recently restored with elegant style and thoughtful sensitivity. Each of the generously proportioned rooms are furnished with beautiful pieces, charming art works and high-quality soft furnishings, which marry harmoniously with the home’s period features. The result is a large and very spacious holiday home, teeming with comfort and indulgence for friends and family to spread out, unwind and have fun – you can bring your dog too!

From the entrance hall, enter a large period lounge, boasting many original features. Walls are adorned with heavy gild framed landscapes, and painted in a soft muted green of the period, which contrasts against crisp white wood and plaster work. Huge floor-to-ceiling windows with painted wooden shutters offer views over the garden, and flood the room with light.

Comfort is priority whilst on holiday, and the owners have been mindful that this home is as relaxing as it is stylish and elegant. The lounge is home to plump russet red sofas and chairs which generously seat eight, or six if someone is blissfully snoozing with their legs up! To the far end of the room, bordered by two large spherical windows, is a substantial ornate fireplace with wood burner for those chilly nights to hunker down and play games or watch a film on Netflix. The owners, paying homage to the period of the property, reinstated an essential element of a home of this grandeur (which would have been used daily in the 18th century) – a grand piano.

Downstairs, there’s a convenient cloakroom and another huge light-filled room to congregate – the kitchen/diner. The proportions of the room, coupled with enormous windows, lend to the rich, deep blue walls, accented with fresh white paint work and contrasting geometric wallpaper. Over a polished wood floor stands the well-equipped natural wood and white kitchen, embellished with shiny copper lights. A generous dining table and 10 cushioned chairs offer plenty of space, and the option for friends to join you for dinner.

Up the balustrade wooden stairs to the first floor, you’ll find a family bathroom and 3 sumptuous bedrooms – one of which is ensuite. Each of the rooms feature a blend of graceful furnishings, vintage touches and luxury fittings.

Bedroom 1 has deluxe zip link beds, providing the option of guests using it as a double or twin room.  As with all the rooms in this property, the room is enormous and filled with light from floor-to-ceiling windows, this time with views over the rear garden. The walls and fitted wardrobes are decorated in beautiful wallpaper of golden yellow with silver, generating a warm, nostalgic ambience.

Bedroom 2 is a smaller double bedroom, painted in calming soft grey with gorgeous blue/grey curtains that frame the huge window. The bedroom has plenty of storage, and is home to a handsome cast iron bed dressed in crisp white linens, enticing a blissful night’s sleep.

Bedroom 3 is another double in a cavernous room. The walls are clad in beautiful pastel blue and white wallpaper, enriched with artwork and mirrors. Two enormous windows bath the room in natural light and, as night draws in, unfold their period white wooden shutters to keep the morning rays at bay until you’re ready to clamber out of bed.

Outside, the rear garden is mostly lawn framed by an ancient brick wall, romantic blooms, stocky shrubs and leafy borders. For al fresco dining and a glass of something cold and bubbly, grab a seat, kick your shoes off, relax and watch the sun go down as the children play in the summer house.
