New Forest Cottages in the Media

As the largest accommodation provider in the New Forest, we use a mix of platforms to promote the New Forest as a destination, with ideas and suggestions of things to do, what to see, as well as the all-important – where to stay.

The vast majority of bookings for holiday cottages nowadays are made online, and New Forest Cottages are phenomenally successful, with www.newforestcottages.co.uk almost always top in ‘New Forest self-catering’ and other relevant searches.

In addition, we work with other promotional websites, national and regional magazines, newspapers and bloggers throughout the year. We also host journalists and travel writers in exchange for printed or online coverage. To get maximum exposure for our portfolio of cottages, we often collaborate with local businesses and create press trips themed around activities, attractions, events, history, culture and popular past times. Whoever works with us are also featured in the articles, so a win for everyone involved.

In addition to nature, seasons, heritage and the all-important wildlife, the New Forest is fast becoming a real foodie destination. The region and surrounding countryside is an abundant pantry – courtesy of Mother Nature, and packed with amazing artisan producers, farm shops, eateries and some of the best restaurants on the south coast.

This autumn we worked with the winner of Celebrity MasterChef 2017 and the BBC’s One Show presenter, Angellica Bell, and her TV presenter husband, Michael Underwood, for a feature in HELLO! online. They stayed at Whiteshoot Farm, which unusually has its own truffle orchard.

For the feature, we worked with our cottage owner and Chef Sam Pearson from Beresford’s Restaurant at the Balmer Lawn Hotel, and craftsman truffle hunter, James Feaver, from www.englishtruffles.co.uk. The result was a punchy, fun and informative article about self-catering in the New Forest, with a direct link to www.newforestcottages.co.uk website, where readers could search through our full portfolio of properties.
