Summer in the New Forest is truly wonderful, fauna is in full bloom, ponies, donkeys and wildlife are pootling around the villages and the New Forest Ice cream van becomes a popular pit stop. Yet many people forget that this national park also has 40 miles of coastline. To celebrate the abundant feast from our shores, 2017 will see the inauguration of the first ever Lymington Seafood Festival 12-13 August.

The two-day gastronomic extravaganza will highlight the very best regional food from the sea and land, plus many more tasty treats. It’s worth noting this isn’t just for seafood lovers, there’ll be something for every taste.

Expect a marketplace of busy stalls featuring scrumptious produce, crafts and delicious drinks from the region’s very best artisans. The festival is set to be a celebration of great music too, with live performances across genres such as jazz, blues, folk, soul, Ska – even some maritime sea shanties!

Leading chefs from the New Forest and Hampshire region include:

Christian Rivon from Granary Kitchen Cookery School.  For accommodation near Granary Kitchen try the friendly village of Everton.

Luke Matthews from 5* Chewton Glen.  For places to stay near Chewton Glen, we recommend picturesque Hordle.

Matt Tomkinson from Montagu Arms. For accommodation near The Montagu Arms, check out the charming village of Beaulieu.
