Featured Properties: Little Blue and Little Green

Little-Green

These two little gems are sprinkled with sophistication, and the perfect sanctuary for couples who will instantly feel right at home.

Both cottages are ensconced in their own dinky courtyard, located just off Lymington’s pretty Georgian high street with its bevvy of boutique and independent shops. There’s loads to love about these bijou cottages, which were once a series of grain stores, storage barns and sheds.

Little-Green

Little Blue and Little Green have been tenderly and elegantly renovated with oodles of thought and immense style by owner and interior designer, Jane McIntyre. Her fresh take on beautiful colours and unique items mingle with gorgeous, enormously comfortable furniture, creating an enchantingly eclectic and very romantic abode. Each room in these cute cottages has been decidedly well thought out, with mod cons, underfloor heating, good storage and wi-fi, to ensure your stay is dreamily restful and fun to boot!

Perfect for couples…

A few minutes’ walk are wonderful restaurants and eateries, such as The Elderflower, Stanwell House and Lanes of Lymington – each of them winning rave reviews and awards for impeccable cuisine. Great pubs and bars to explore include The Ship Inn, The Mayflower and The Angel and Blue Pig, which all serve really good food as well.

Saturdays are busy for Lymington, with its weekly street market selling anything and everything from general wares, antiques and crafts, to local produce from the farmers and artisans. On the high street, you’ll see a golden post box, painted so by locals in celebration of local boy turned Olympic hero, Sir Ben Ainslie. He spent much of his time in this, his home town, training at the town’s sailing clubs. You’re sure to see lots of mariner types and sailing enthusiasts around the town and its busy marinas throughout the year.

Lymington-Pier

Take a short toddle from your cottage down the hill to the harbour – a perfect spot for people watching and fish and chips! From the harbour, you can go on a fishing trip, exhilarating ride around the bay on a super-fast RIB, or take a boat over to the Isle of Wight for the day. And if you’re looking for something quirky and fun to do on a Wednesday or Sunday night, book on to a Lymington Town Tour and hear all about fascinating skulduggery, hidden secrets and stories of smuggling – ooh arrr me hearties!
