Hurray! The New Forest is slowly but surely bouncing back to life, taking all the necessary safety precautions against Coronavirus. More events will be added to the calendar as the months roll forward, but for the meantime here are some late summer events which are back on that we want to share with you.
Beaulieu Park and Picnic – 27th August
Beaulieu is hosting a summer evening drive-in picnic with live music to the smooth melodies of New Orleans style jazz music. Sit and relax, nibble on some delicious produce from the local farm shop and relax in the gorgeous scenery. The cost is £28 per car including two passengers, and it’s £10 per additional adult, £5 per child. BUT that includes exclusive access to the National Motor Museum and Little Beaulieu – the enormous adventure play area. Go early in the day to see everything and the picnic times are advertised 5p – 8 pm. www.beaulieu.co.uk

Lymington Seafood Festival – 29th – 31st August
Three fabulous days of fantastic food, drink, live entertainment, and music. Expect food stalls, producers and cookery demonstrations with the sail boats and marinas as your backdrop. Dogstival – 5th – 6th September
Hurray for Dogstival, having been rescheduled from earlier this summer, September is the new date to come along to Burley with your four-legged friends for a really good fun day out. New Forest Cottages are sponsoring this brilliant day out for the second year running. There’s a full weekend of activities, advice, demonstrations, physios, dog behaviourists and food nutrition experts, competitions and so much more. Inline with COVID safety, tickets have to be bought in advance. Tickets are £13.90 for Adults, £8 Children aged 5-16 years, under 5’s go free. www.dogstival.co.uk

The New Forest Marathon – 13th September
The organisers are back again with this ever-popular marathon, attracting runners in their thousands from all over the world. There are six race options this year: a full marathon, half marathon, 10k, 5k, junior 1k, junior 200m and a woodland walk, all set in the stunning New Forest National Park, just as the woods and heathland twist and turn in to their most colourful and vibrant colours of autumn.
