Introducing Shell Seekers, East End

Shell-Seekers

With free roaming ponies and donkeys ambling past the front gate, this gorgeous cottage will have you relaxing in holiday mode from the moment you walk through its pretty green door.

Shell-Seekers

Inside this luxury three bedroomed period home are two sitting rooms, each with a very different, intriguingly peaceful vibe. The first is a homely, stylish and elegant lounge. Deep, plush sofas and chairs adorned with snuggly cushions are arranged on sleek dark wood polished floors against pale pink walls. An expansive open log fire calls for attention as the focal point of the room and is neighboured by a smart TV and Blu-ray player.

The second sitting room is an altogether different affair. High beamed, vaulted ceilings in soft grey tones and fresh white paint create a spacious retreat, where sunlight floods through enormous floor to ceiling windows. A handsome cast iron log burner and TV provide warmth and entertainment after a day out exploring. Sink in to one of the slate grey sofas decked in plump blue cushions, which contrast beautifully with textures and shades of the large deep pile rug.

From the second sitting room a staircase clambers to a bright, stylish galleried room – a perfect spot for young and old to retreat with a good book, or take in the mesmerising views across the Isle of Wight and the Solent’s busy shipping lanes.

Downstairs there’s a convenient cloakroom and impressive eat in kitchen and utility room, which houses a useful washing machine and tumble dryer. The classical country style kitchen is in warm hues of green, complemented with timeless terracotta flagstone floor tiles. When not eating out, pop to the local farm shop for ingredients to whip up a delicious meal. The kitchen has an electric oven, electric induction hob, Aga, (in use during the winter months), dishwasher, microwave and fridge and freezer.

Sleeping quarters are upstairs where there is space-a-plenty.  The bright master bedroom exudes a restful ambience in shades of pale blue, crisp white and sandy taupe, reminiscent of a summers day at the beach. The indulgent super kingsize bed (can be made in to two 3ft single beds) faces a picture window with views over wide open fields and woodland wildlife. A few steps down from the bedroom is a sleek and stylish contemporary ensuite with a bath and handheld shower – a perfect spot for a late-night bath stargazing through the ceiling window. A second king-size double bedroom, decorated in a pallet of peaceful blues and clean whites, can be made into a twin room of two 2ft 6in single beds. The third pretty bedroom is in primrose yellow, and home to two single beds flaunting sumptuous marshmallowy bedding that will guarantee a blissful night’s sleep. The last room on the floor is a sparkling bright and very spacious family bathroom in shades of pale green and creamy hues, with the luxury of underfloor heating providing a thoughtful touch from the owners.

Outside is quaint and pretty with an enclosed lawn boarded by flowering cottage garden plants – a serene spot for whiling away warmer months in a blissful slumber with a glass of something cold and bubbly. The south facing and sheltered courtyard garden to the rear of the cottage sets the perfect scene for al fresco dining and summer drinks as the sky mingles vibrant shades of pink and orange when the sun sets.

One of the many wonderful aspects about staying in this lovely cottage is that you will be surrounded by open forest for magical walks, bike rides and endless adventures discovering the wildlife. Another huge bonus is that you also have use of a private beach, a mere 5-minute skip down the country lane!

Shell-Seekers

The East End Arms renowned for its superb food and drink is just a 10-minute toddle away. The closest shop is just 3 miles in the village of East Boldre. However, drive another minute or so and you’ll be in the Georgian marine town of Lymington. Here you’ll find supermarkets, a gorgeous high street full of independent shops and boutiques, and a popular street market every Saturday throughout the year. The town has some amazing restaurants and eateries from award winning fine dining at The Elderflower to quirky Viking nosh at Oskubox. Whilst in Lymington, take a walk around its marinas where ‘local boy’ and Olympian sailing hero Sir Ben Ainslie trained (you can see his golden telephone box on the high street). Stop by the harbour for an ice cream or fish and chips, and maybe go on a fishing trip, thrilling RIB ride or even a fun filled day trip to the Isle of Wight.
