You’re literally a toddle away from some of the New Forest’s best restaurants, pubs and high street – home to a weekly street market and boutique shops, which mingle happily amongst familiar high street names. You’ll find Lymington such a lovely town, bustling with friendly locals, fishermen and trendy sailors who frequent the two marinas.

This pretty, red brick two bedroom cottage sleeps four in a twin and double bedroom. It’s a light-filled, luxurious abode, perfect for couples or a young family. You’ll immediately feel at home with all the carefully considered mod cons provided by the owners. They have liberally sprinkled each room with stylish furnishings, resulting in a comfy, contemporary home.

The lounge/diner has pretty pale blue sofas adorned with nautical cushions, which offer a mellow contrast to the warm wood floors and classic dining furniture. The pretty blue theme continues into the immaculate galley kitchen and the bedrooms. The ground floor master bedroom is spacious, elegant and bright. A sumptuous kingsize double bed, dressed in quality linens, is surrounded by beautiful furniture, fixtures and fittings, creating a cocoon of serenity to snooze and slumber. The first floor twin bedroom is equally plush. Handsome oak beds bedecked with nautical pillows, crisp sheets and marshmallowy bedding beckon weary travellers for a good night’s sleep.

Sun lovers will adore the divinely dinky, south facing, prettily planted courtyard garden, the perfect setting for morning coffee and croissants from a nearby bakery, or al fresco dining as the sun gently sinks below the horizon.

The location of Brackens Cottage must surely be one of its finest attributes if you’re looking to combine a forest holiday with the coast. Staying in Lymington, you have a multitude of options for days out. From the bustling harbour, take a ferry boat over to the Isle of Wight, zip across the Solent on a RIB ride and indulge in all manners of sea sports and experiences. An hour’s pretty walk from your cottage is the amazingly beautiful Keyhaven Nature Reserve. It’s a stunning spot for watching birds and wildlife, and forms part of the celebrated Solent Way walk. Amble a little further to the cute village of Keyhaven, its sunny beach and one and a half mile pebble spit leading to King Henry VIII’s magnificent coastal fortress, Hurst Castle – well worth a visit!
