Having been recently renovated, this 3-bedroomed property, sleeping up to 6 guests is utterly enchanting. And unusually for a property of this size, the cavernous interior is all on one level, so a good option for those with limited mobility.
You enter the property into a huge lounge, kitchen and dining room. Lofty ceilings with exposed beams and a solid wood floor display the quality and flawless craftmanship of this building, which is cleverly lit by imaginative and very pretty contemporary lighting. The theme of warm wood features throughout the home and works in harmony with a colour pallet of natural hues in creams and taupe. The entire house is drenched in natural daylight which flaunts through the multitude of windows and French doors in the lounge, which lead on to the enormous south facing grounds.
The thoughtful owners have provided ample seating on soft, plump, comfortable sofas around a large coffee table and smart TV. In the corner is a grand and handsome log burner to keep you warm and toasty on chilly nights. The stylish homely vibe continues in the dining area where comfy cushioned chairs surround a bold, chunky farmhouse style table. Adjacent is a shaker style kitchen which is home to a gas hob, integrated electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge with icebox and washing machine.
From the hallway are the bedrooms. The spacious master suite has a beautifully dressed king size bed, mellow honey pine furniture, and a large and flawlessly designed ensuite, with his and hers sinks and spaciously lavish wet room.
There’s a lovely second double bedroom and generously sized twin bedroom, each beautifully furnished with stylish flourishes and smart fine linens. A big, bright, modern family bathroom is where you’ll find ample space, a large bath and shower.
Outside is a joy to behold! The Barn Studio is set within the extensive south facing grounds of the owners’ own home. Immediately outside the barn laurel hedges provide privacy for guests to relax on garden furniture as clouds dreamily float overhead. Get ready as the sun sets to light the barbeque and enjoy listening to the soundtrack of birdsong. There are far-reaching vistas of the surrounding open countryside and woodland which are mesmerizing, and generously sprinkled with songbirds and vibrant wildlife – think deer, foxes and badgers playing on the lawns! In the summer months head down to the pretty river which meanders through the far end of the grounds, where peace and tranquillity are only disturbed by the buzz and swoops of dragonflies.
There’s a shop for provisions a short walk from the barn, and a brilliant pub called The Augustus John just up the road with a lively events calendar, superb ales and scrumptious food which you can eat at the pub or order as a takeaway!
Just a mile away is the lovely market town of Fordingbridge, which is teeming with shops, eateries and pubs. The cathedral city of Salisbury, known for its chic boutiques, markets and fascinating history, is also a short drive away. The free-roaming ponies, heathlands and woods of the New Forest National Park are just 10 minutes away, and for a completely different day out, head to the seven miles of golden, sandy beaches of the seaside metropolis of Bournemouth – just a 40-minute drive south.
