What a gorgeous little hideaway this cosy Victorian cottage is! A stay at 1 Rose Cottage provides a true New Forest experience, surrounded by open forest, woodland animals and the famous free roaming ponies. Tucked away on the outskirts of enchanting Brook village, visitors are only a short stroll away from a super village shop for day to day provisions, and two wonderful pubs – The Green Dragon and The Bell Inn for lip-smackingly good food and a chance to chat with the friendly locals.

1 Rose Cottage offers homely cosiness whilst having plenty of space to relax and slumber to the sound of birdsong and trees rustling in the breeze. In fact, this cottage has an abundance of windows in all shapes and sizes which provide beautiful views and Mother Nature’s seasonal soundtrack. A carefully chosen palette of natural hues and warm solid floors weaves through each of the charming rooms. In the lounge, a large brick fireplace crowned by a vast chunk of oak houses a log burner to snuggle beside when the nights are crisp and cold.

Amber tones in the wood and slate kitchen creates a welcoming vibe, which coupled with modern appliances make for an easy life when staying at 1 Rose Cottage. The kitchen has generous windows overlooking woodland, trees and the cottage garden, so a few minutes pottering here would hardly feel a chore. The dining room continues to showcase this cottage’s excellent craftsmanship. Think of long lazy meals around a painted oak dining table, with French doors flung open to let the outside in.

Upstairs are two bedrooms, each with a smart TV. The first is an ensuite double room with a big brass bed for a blissful night’s sleep. It is dressed in crisp white linens, accentuated with colourful cushions which complement cottagey rose curtains.  The large twin bedroom has zesty lemons and sunshine yellows painted on accent walls, crafty bunting, pencil pleat curtains and two vintage style cream metal beds.

Outside is an unexpected treat of kaleidoscopic shapes, shades and texture in a lovingly-tendered garden. It’s a blissful area of beauty and tranquillity, with a pretty half-moon thatched summer house, where guests can gather to chat about their days exploring the New Forest.

Visitors are spoilt with so many options of what to see and do. For families, a must-do is a trip to Paultons Park – home of Peppa Pig World and voted the UK’s #1 family theme park by TripAdvisor, which is only five miles away. The New Forest Wildlife Park, Exbury Gardens and Beaulieu are all great days out nearby. Or just don boots, wellies or shoes, pack a picnic and set off for a walk alongside the National Park’s famous New Forest Ponies and free-roaming wildlife.
