Non smoking property
enjoyed our stay in a well equipped cottage
The instructions are diificult to read in artificial light! Why pale green headers and pale grey text? They should include some instructions on the heating. Cottage was excellent, very comfortable. Key box outside difficult to see the numbers.
Beautiful cottage and the welcome gifts of a bottle of wine and cake were much appreciated.
for us everything was perfect
Excellent accommodation and friendly owners.
We very much enjoyed our stay. So easy to live in.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rose Cottage. The cottage was very warm, clean and cosy and we would definitely recommend it to others.
We loved our stay there and felt every effort had been made to make this possible. Hope we are able to go back in the summer.
Really enjoyed our stay and would stay again.
This was a last minute booking but what a find! After diligent research online for a holiday cottage in the New Forest that has a pub nearby with vegetarian options, we stumbled across Brook and the Green Dragon (the Bell Inn was very close too, but as the Dragon's menu featured 3 different veggie main meal options, the staff was very friendly and the food and beer delicious, we didn't want to go anywhere else). After arrival at the cottage, we were greeted by homebaked scones, clotted cream, jam, milk and even a bottle of wine! We were so pleasantly surprised and ate two of the scones before we even unpacked our bags! The cottage itself is very cosy - there's a lovely living room and two bedrooms, two loos, a new modern spacious walk-in shower, a spacious kitchen (I loved the state-of-the-art new oven and microwave at eye level) and a wood-burning stove, where my husband swung into action. We had brought some kindling and wood, as we have this kind of stove at home as well, but the owner generously provided us with enough firewood for a few evenings. On the first morning there were horses and donkeys walking around on the street - fantastic! We spent several happy days there and it was so easy to get into the heart of the New Forest. A brilliant cottage, lovely garden and a great location for the Forest!
Lovely cottage with attractive garden. We had pleasant autumn weather, but also appreciated the cosiness of the cottage and its woodburning stove in the evenings. And a great location - two good pubs a very short walk away, and also possible to walk directly from the cottage into the open spaces of the New Forest (and the Rufus Stone). In the neighbourhood we encountered horses, donkeys, cows, pigs and deer; never a dull moment!
Just lovely. Will definitely recommend it to family and friends. My only suggestion would be a throw rug/ blanket for downstairs- but that is very fine print.
This is a lovely cottage. Beautifully renovated with amazing hand built wooden features inside and out. So comfortable and with lots of special touches that make it unique. Will definitely be staying again. Lovely owner who was so helpful.
Lovely cottage!Very well organised and very clean! And great location too.
A beautifully decorated and well equipped cottage. The owner provided for all our needs, even for our baby grandaughter We enjoyed the "wildlife" at the gate as well as tea and homemade cake in the most wonderful garden house. We would love to come back!
1 Rose Cottage is a beautifully decorated home, both inside and outside. We felt very welcomed with the cake and the wine! We had all the utensils (and more..) that we required in the kitchen, and the high standard of refurbishment was evident throughout the home. We will certainly return next year.
1 Rose Cottage has been lovingly renovated and is very tastefully furnished, decorated and equipped. A great deal of care and attention has gone into making this a wonderful holiday home with everything that you could possibly need. The very pretty garden has the added bonus of a lovely thatched summer house. There is easy access to the New Forest, either at the end of the lane or a short drive away. There is so much to do in the area. We really enjoyed our stay at Rose Cottage.
A superb cottage ideally placed for exploring the New Forest and beyond. The property has been renovated to a very high standard, is very well equipped and clean throughout. The gardens are equally impressive, especially the thatched seating area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would strongly recommend.
