Planning Holidays with Dogs

In the not too distant past, holidays used to be a tricky time for many dog owners. According to a recent survey, 36% of us spent our holiday fretting about our pooches not being with us. Were they OK? Did they like boarding? Is my friend looking after them properly? We missed them and what’s more, we worried and fretted about the cost of kennel fees – which can be as much as the holiday itself!  Put simply, a holiday isn’t as much fun without your faithful four-legged friend in tow.

Travelling with your dog doesn’t need to be stressful. The solution is finding a destination and accommodation where you’ll all be happy.

The New Forest is probably one of THE most dog friendly areas in the country. With 220 square miles of wooded copses, and acre upon acre of heathland where they can romp and play – not forgetting 40 miles of coastland to explore as well, dogs and their owners love the New Forest. In addition to places to walk, there are endless pubs and eateries where you and your pooches are most welcome. Water bowls and doggie treats from the bar are familiar sights.

New Forest Cottages have some truly wonderful dog friendly cottages in all shapes and sizes, many of which have open forest access and walks from the front door.
