This was our first stay at Brrokside Cottage - and we hope to come back again. We were very impressed with the cottage and its facilities. Despite the weather being quite cold, thanks to the Storage Heaters and the additional heaters provided, we found the place as warm as toast. The house-manual was very good - particularly the little sketch-map showing the grounds and the nearby "Brook Cottage". We were lucky enough to have our stay when many of the shrubs in the garden were in full flower, so we found the garden very pretty. Since we bookd the cottage, the bathroom had been changed into a high-specification Shower Room. We found the room very pleasant to use. Minor snags : The chain on the wash basin plug in the Shower Room had a tendency to come loose from its fixing onto the basin - so that may need sorting out ! Some control knobs on the kitchen appliances had worn-away text, so were marginally awkward to get to the right setting.
We were unable to light the logfire for long as it was very smokey and smoked the whole house out!
We had a fantastic week in the cottage, which was clean and comfortable. the location was delightful as we could walk straight into woods through the back garden. The village or common were only a short distance from the front gate.
