Whether you are an experienced rider or a beginner, a ride or hack can be booked at one of the many local stables including Burley Manor Riding Stables.

The New Forest is ideal for families wanting a safe off road experience and gentle cycle routes amongst open heathland and shelterd woods.

The station at Brockenhurst allows you to bring your bikes and get straight out into the forest or if you don’t have bikes with you, you can hire them from one of the many cycle hire centres, including those in the heart of the New Forest: Burley or Brockenhurst.

Train

Train

Train stations within the National Park are Ashurst, Beaulieu Road, Brockenhurst and Sway. The other train stations in the New Forest are Hinton Admiral, Lymington, New Milton and Totton. For details on timetables visit the National Rail web site.

The New Forest is served by a public bus network, which provides the opportunity to both travel to and around the area by bus.

The local bus companies are Bluestar , Wilts & Dorset and Transdev Yellow Buses.

The Beach Bus

The Beach Bus runs in the summer holidays from Hythe Ferry to Lymington, stopping at popular attractions such as Lepe Country Park, Exbury Gardens, the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu and Buckler’s Hard. Take an open-top safari to see more, explore more and enjoy more of the forest on a day out. Sit back and enjoy the far-reaching views, stunning scenery, and historic villages of the New Forest.

You can hop on and off the tour bus as many times as you want during the day allowing for local journeys between villages and visitor attractions.

Tours run daily from late June to mid September, with a choice of three routes: Red (the wild northwest), Green (the beautiful southeast) and Blue (the coastal southwest). More info here: New Forest Tour.
